We are thrilled to say that this year, we're returning to Vietnam with Brittany’s Hope and Elizabethtown College students! Part of our mission is to raise $21,000 to build three homes for families in need.

As you may remember, Vietnam has held a special place in our hearts for a long time.

In 2007, Peggy partnered with Brittany’s Hope to launch Vietnam Service Learning Trips with Elizabethtown College—originally through the Social Work Department, where she had the privilege of serving as Department Chair and later Professor Emeritus. Over the years, these trips have grown and expanded, and today students from additional programs (including Occupational Therapy) are also experiencing the learning, relationships, and life-changing impact that Vietnam offers.

Why a home matters

When parents are struggling with unsafe housing, instability, or extreme poverty, they can face an impossible decision—to separate from their children by placing them in a children’s home, not because they want to, but because they feel they have no other option.

A safe, stable home changes that. It helps keep families together. It gives parents a foundation to work, care for their children, and build a future—without separation.

A glimpse of what long-term support can do

On Peggy's first trip in 2007, we began sponsoring and supporting the education of a young Vietnamese orphan namedHuyen. Today, Huyen is34, living in America, has a wonderful six year old son, andgraduated from nursing school two years ago. Her story is one of perseverance—and a reminder that steady support can truly transform a life over time.

How you can help

If you’re willing to join us, we would be grateful. Your gift—of any size—will move three families closer to a safe home and the dignity of staying together.

Our fundraising goal: $21,000

Donations $3,941
Goal $21,000

We fell in love with Vietnam on that first trip—its people, resilience, warmth, and the deep connections that form when we listen, learn, and show up with humility. Those connections stayed with us and they shaped the direction of Peggy's work. In 2014, Peggy was honored to receive a Fulbright Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State to teach at Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City—an experience that further strengthened our relationships and my commitment to the people and communities we came to know.

Purpose: Build one family home through Brittany’s Hope

Thank you for considering a gift, and for being part of the compassion and community that makes this work possible.

The Difference Your Gift Makes

Building a home is about more than construction—it’s about providing a foundation for a family to stay together. To the left/above, you can see a home we completed during a previous trip. This transformation was only possible because of donors like you. Help me create this same life-changing result for another family this year.
