About The McCulloch Family

James & Amber

We are the McCulloch family. Perfectly imperfect. A home that is filled with love, tears, laughter, and much, much grace.

Amber and I never felt our family picture required that everyone in the photo has the same physical features. We believe that family is NOT defined by blood but by the inseparable bond that forms as mom, dad, and siblings journey together. Our prayer is that every child has a home where they are loved, supported, and cared for and know they belong to something incredibly beautiful called, “FAMILY.”

From 2001 through 2008, we were blessed with the births of Logan (24), Scout (22), Quaid (19), and Sawyer (17), but our family felt incomplete. We sensed God had bigger plans for us. So in 2016, after much prayer on what was an incredible journey, we traveled to China and adopted a 12-year-old boy with Hemophilia named Jonas. Our son Jonas changed EACH of us for the better.

Now, in 2025, we feel again that our family is not complete. So in total faith, we find ourselves preparing to adopt a beautiful and wonderful 13-year-old girl from Colombia. We long for the day when our family photo will include her with her other five siblings. We look forward to her finding love, support, and belonging within our McCulloch family home.

What is a Brittany's Hope Adoption Grant?

Brittany’s Hope believes in the fundamental right of all children to have the security and love of a family. There are an estimated 153 million orphans living around the world (UNICEF – 02/2011). These staggering statistics are heartbreaking considering a large number of these children are special needs, who have little or no value in the eyes of their own country. They are left to languish in institutions, where they receive minimal care and live hopeless, helpless lives.

The cost of international adoption can be overwhelming and is only further compounded by the medical and accessibility costs a child with special needs presents. Our Adoption Grant Program provides grant monies while giving families the opportunity to assist Brittany’s Hope in raising funds so the next child may also be united with their forever family. The phrase “It takes a village to raise a child,” takes on new meaning as the “seeds” of the adoptive family’s friends, family and neighbors take root and help provide future families with adoption grants. With a gift to Brittany’s Hope, a donor’s monetary support of the Adoption Grant Program means double for the adoptive family.
